A pivotal supporting role in research, analysis and development of evidence-based policy for the PBS
**Your new company**
This federal government branch shapes the supply, pricing and funding of and access to Commonwealth subsidised pharmaceuticals in Australia. This is achieved through the development and continued improvement of policies and programs. The section is responsible for providing policy advice to decision makers around pricing and subsidies of medicines in line with the Act. The team is currently seeking an experienced policy officer to join this fast-paced team for an initial 6 month contract with view for permanency.

**Your new role**
Your new role will see you playing a fundamental part in research, analysis and development of forward-thinking, evidence-based policy. Here you will provide advice on pharmaceutical pricing and support associated decision making processes by the Department and Government. Whilst working with industry and other Government Agencies, you will ensure timely changes to medicine listings in line with statutory requirements. This role will see you assist in the development of evidence-based options for new policies. As you will be working collaboratively within the Division and across the Department and with external organisations to do so, well-developed communication skills and the ability to foster professional relationships is a must.

**What you'll need to succeed**
To succeed in this role, you will be a high-performing individual with demonstrated professional experience working as a policy officer within the Australian Public Service. As well as this, you will have:

- Demonstrated skills in research and analysis (particularly data analysis).
- Established experience with developing strategic written and oral communication.
- Attention to detail with the ability to identify and synthesise key pieces of information from a range of diverse sources.
- Autonomy and adaptability to perform in a fast moving and changing work environment
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Flexibility, initiative and organisational skills to work effectively in a small team to tight deadlines.
