**We will count on you to**:
The Investment Governance Specialist sits within Mercer’s Investment Management (IM) team and is responsible for supporting the investment governance activity across the IM team, including managing and overseeing commitments to Mercer Investments (Australia) Limited (MIAL), Mercer Superannuation (Australia) Limited (MSAL) and Advance Asset Management Limited (AAML) Boards, sub Committees and management level governance forums. The role includes establishing and operationalising a refreshed Investment Governance Model.

The role will report to the Investment Management Office Leader and will work collaboratively with the local teams to ensure Board and governance commitments are met on time with high quality.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Prepare written reports and presentation of information to Boards, sub committees and management level committees, focusing on compliance and risk
- Oversight of all policy, regulatory, compliance, disclosure, legal and fiduciary requirements, and ensuring they are tracked and met
- Establish and build strong collaborative relationships with key internal stakeholders such as risk, compliance, legal, product etc
- Service delivery of all governance, compliance, and risk services to ensure requirements are met
- Oversight of Investment Management Board and sub Committee deliverables and proactive management of each to ensure they are delivered at a high quality.
- Manage queries and requests relating to Boards from internal and external stakeholders
- Remain informed and educated about industry and market developments and best practice through continuing education activities

**What you need to have**:

- Degree qualification in Finance, Business, Economics or other related discipline (preferable)
- 5 years relevant industry experience
- Experience with investment governance, specifically understanding of investment structures, managed funds and the fiduciary, regulatory, compliance obligations that come with it.
- Strong analytical skills and the capacity to interpret qualitative and quantitative data.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Good understanding of investments and current issues
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Capable of working in a team environment
