We are looking for a Head of Investment Governance to join our growing Investments team. Part of the Legal and Governance leadership team, your role will be leading a small team to ensure Rest’s investment governance framework operates in the best financial interests of members.
- You will be accountable for ensuring all investment related decisions, taken within the investment governance framework are appropriately recorded and actioned. This is a new role which has been brought about by a recent promotion.**Key Responsibilities Include**:
- Supporting and enabling the effective and efficient operation of Rest’s investment governance framework, including by managing the Operational Investment Governance team
- Assessing the existing investment governance framework, benchmarking the maturity of the existing framework and identifying gaps and opportunities to drive continuous improvement including by aligning existing processes and procedures with better practice approaches
- Supporting and enabling the effective and efficient operation of the investment team’s investment governance committee meetings, including agenda preparation, meeting facilitation, attendance and minute taking, and management of matters arising
- Acting as the central contact point for the Investment Team’s co-ordination of investment governance processes, including advising in relation to investment decision making delegations and ensuring appropriate record keeping of investment decisions is made and retained
**About You**:
Qualifications:
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline, eg commerce, business or similar/equivalent
Required experience, understanding or credentials
- **including**:
- At least 5 to 10 years’ experience in company secretariat or relevant equivalent roles in the superannuation/investment industry
- High level stakeholder engagement and communication skills, to effectively liaise with senior management and draft investment policy documentation.
- A strong understanding of Investment Governance frameworks and policy / procedure requirements for investment functions
- High level attention to detail
- Excellent organisational and planning skills and experience
- A dependable person able to act independently, be accountable for their responsibilities and take initiative
