**The Role**
This opportunity will see you:
- Contribute to the development and implementation of strategies to mature the department’s workforce planning capability, and assist to develop and deliver on workforce planning strategic projects and outcomes.
- Provide expert advice on workforce analytics and insights to guide the business’s workforce planning activities, strategic agenda and projects;
- Coordinate the development and implementation of data and reporting projects that deliver on business outcomes;
- Maintain relationships with the Senior Executive, project leaders and other relevant stakeholders to improve the business’s workforce data capture, analytics and reporting capability;
- Contribute to the delivery of the CASG strategic workforce plan
- Assist in leadership of large survey and reporting projects and lead qualitative data projects.
**About our Team**
The Workforce Data and Insights Team is part of the Workforce Planning and Strategy Team that supports CASG by developing workforce solutions through data insights and strategic workforce projects. Working in partnership across CASG, the Workforce Data and Insights team provides data services and insights that inform strategic and operational workforce management, business priorities, and projects.
The team offers CASG a high level of data expertise and is forward-looking in its focus, as well as providing day to day support in resolving emerging operational issues. The operating environment is diverse and varied, and a high level of consultation is required to identify and address stakeholder needs.
The Department of Defence provides:

- Maintain detailed Knowledge of HR policies, practices and systems combined with an understanding of workforce planning and management
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of quantitative and qualitative workforce analysis methods;
- Analyse and interpret data to inform HR strategy;
- Have strong relationship management and stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to bring a customer service focus to the delivery of workforce data functions;
- Demonstrate well-developed written and oral communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts to a non-technical audience;
- Have effective problem solving and critical thinking skills to exercise sound judgment in consideration of immediate and long-term priorities;
- Mentor and develop others to maintain team cohesion, and ensures quality of outputs for the work area.
