We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join the Development Assessment team to provide expert arboricultural and landscaping advice. In this role you will carry out compliance inspections and provide innovative, practical, and high-quality solutions to ensure compliance.

**We will trust you to bring**:
- Appropriate tertiary qualifications in both Arboriculture (Diploma, Level 5), and Landscape / Horticulture (Associate Diploma)
- Applied knowledge across a range of development assessment and regulatory issues relevant to the principles of environmental management and landscape design
- Working knowledge of relevant State and Local Government legislation
- High degree of competence in native and ornamental plant identification.
- Ability to interpret and analyse site, architectural, landscape and stormwater plans and drawings
- Provision of excellent customer service and a high standard of written, oral communication and negotiation skills
- Class C driver’s licence
**Things you will do**:
- Interact with key internal and external stakeholders
- Provide high level technical assessment of landscape and tree matters
- Negotiate with parties to resolve landscape and tree related issues
- Accurately identify and assess matters that require detailed conditions of consent
- Ensure adequate conditions and safeguards are imposed where a private development will involve the dedication or delivery of future public assets
- Educate and inform applicants and the community of the importance of preserving and enhancing the urban canopy.
- Provide technical advice and strategic direction on policy matters
