**Property Officer - Supported Independent Living**

**The Opportunity**

The Property Officer will provide a pivotal service within Samaritans Permanency Support Program, Supported Independent Living (ages 16-18+) across the Newcastle and Central Coast regions, this role focuses on day to day management of property operations such as developing and maintaining relationships with housing providers and real estate businesses, management of property maintenance, inspections and tenant responsibilities, the property officer will also negotiate agreements including rent reviews, arrears management, bonds and rent payments.

**The Essentials**
- Previous property management experience
- Understanding of the Residential Tenancy Act and rights and responsibilities within it
- Ability to maintain and model professional boundaries
- Experience in employing strengths-based practice and trauma informed practice
- A solid understanding of housing products as they relate to housing for young people

The successful applicant will also possess or willingness to obtain the following; NSW Working With Children Check, NDIS Worker Screening Check, first aid and CPR Certificate and undertake a pre-employment functional medical.

This role is paid under the Social, Community, Home Care & Disability Services Award 2010- Level 3
