We’re not looking for a financial controller or an accountant

We’re looking for someone that enjoys data entry, takes responsibility for every transaction recorded and has a warm friendly personality.

The role involves overseeing all aspects of bookkeeping and requires a person who excels in accuracy and has a talent for problem solving.

**Here’s what is required**:

- Execution: Payments of suppliers, contractors and taxes.
- Execution: Deal with workers compensation submissions in multiple states.
- Execution: Weekly PAYG and monthly payments to overseas contractors
- Execution: Bank reconciliation and month end reporting.
- Execution: Movement of funds through multiple accounts in multiple currencies in order to maintain sufficient liquidity to cover outgoings.
- Management: Manage debtors by following up overdue accounts.
- Management: Dealing with anything accounts related that may come your way.

**To be successful in this role you must**:

- Have 5+ years of experience in accounts.
- Have excellent communication skills.
- Have 2+ years of experience using Xero.
- Have outstanding attention to detail.
- Be obsessed with details, no matter how big or small (some might say you’re a little ‘too’ obsessive, or maybe a bit of a control freak, but you just prefer to be called accurate).
- Triple check output at a minimum (you feel like only double checking is how silly mistakes get through).
- Settle for nothing less than perfection.
- Have an open mind (we may do things differently here to how you have done them before).
- Have a home office set up and are able to work without distraction.
- Have a fast and secure internet connection.

**A little about APB**

The Association of Professional Builders is a business coaching company for custom home builders. We provide on demand training and systems via our membership and have a private mentoring level where we work one on one with builders world-wide.

The work we do matters and every day we are changing lives. Our members are thriving (despite what you might have heard about the industry lately) which has allowed us to expand our operations even further.

We have a small team of 17 people across three countries and we’re growing safely and securely every day. We’re proud to have recently earned our certification from Great Place To Work Australia after an independent review of our team.

Why is this position available? Our bookkeeping has been managed by the wife of Co-founder Russ Stephens since the company started. Now, with the systems and processes in place, the time is right for this role to be taken over by a dedicated bookkeeper.
