The role

We are seeking a Home Maintenance Officer to join the Community Support team. Reporting to the Coordinator of Home Maintenance, your role is to:
To undertake home maintenance tasks in a timely and efficient manner ensuring clients receive a high-quality service.
To observe the behaviour and appearance of clients and their condition of their home and report any concerns to the Home Maintenance Co-ordinator.
To participate as a member of a team which operates as a cohesive work group, delivering and utilising effective communication lines with staff.To understand and use safe work methods at all times, reporting on conditions which could affect the well-being of staff and clients as required under the Occupational Health and Safety Act 1985.

Make a difference to the community by providing services to allow people to feel safe and comfortable in their own home.

About you

The successful applicant will have the ability to complete a broad range of property maintenance and repairs, pro-actively identifying potential risks within the home that may impact on client well-being. You will also need to have a strong working knowledge of the range of home modifications that enhance functional independence, such as the construction of ramps and steps and the design and placement of handrails.

Most importantly, you will have excellent communication skills, a mature and accountable work ethic and a willingness to support the frail aged and clients with a disability.

**Salary**: $47,791.76 - $85,451.55 per year
