Stafford, Australia Northside Flower Market Full time

Northside Flower Market is looking for a safe and confident driver with local knowledge to deliver fresh flowers. We deliver to homes, businesses, hospitals, schools and more, mainly on the north side of Brisbane in our own vans. Included in this role you will be required to help process incoming stock by cutting flower bunches, hydrating, and sorting stock, and transferring/ refreshing stock in our retail shop. The role also includes potted plant care and stock takes.

This is a physically demanding job that involves lifting and carrying boxes and buckets of water and mixed foliage, along with pushing trolleys of stock.

Prior floristry or fresh produce experience is an advantage. You will receive training in all areas of the job. You will be expected to learn quickly. You must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail is essential, an ability to think on your feet and respond quickly to changing demands and priorities through the working day. It is perishable goods and working in a cold room environment - so a fit, fun, well presented person who can work in a team environment would be ideal. (with a mostly female team)

We start around 7am - Monday to Friday sometimes we require weekend assistance on event days like Mother's Day and Valentine's Day.

Essential qualifications and capabilities for the role include:

- A clean, Open Queensland Drivers’ Licence.
- Evidence of prior courier work.
- The ability to drive safely and to manage your schedule to deliver during business hours and to make timed deliveries.
- A high standard of personal presentation.
- Good communication skills to deal with clients and our own admin & production team.
- The ability to lift and carry deliveries safely including up flights of stairs.
