The Head of Commercial Finance plays a critical role in the business to support strong commercial decision-making through trade analysis and insights, working with divisional partners to understand performance, influencing business cases and key projects, and providing input into strategic decision-making.

**What you’ll be doing**

**Strategic Planning**
- Manage and support the end-to-end planning process for the business’ strategic planning process, including budgeting. Work with the Strategy Manager and support the Corporate Planning cycle.
- Leverage outstanding communication and engagement skills to critique and challenge strategy.
- Present financial forecasts and strategy plans in high quality documents appropriate for board consumption.
- Develop, using sophisticated modelling skills, the company wide forecast model, which can be used to develop the 5-year plan, budget and rolling monthly forecast.
- Provide commercial assessment of new business opportunities and key projects, including working with key stakeholders to source and test assumptions, developing robust commercial recommendations, and presentation of outputs to relevant stakeholders.
- Responsible for the provision of commercial analysis and insight to identify value creation opportunities and risks, guide commercial decision-making, and support the business’ growth trajectory.

**Decision Support**
- Provide commercial decision support to all functions in Catch
- Work with functional teams to develop financial modelling and business cases to support key strategic and operational decisions.
- Challenge key assumptions and identify key value drivers
- Prepare discounted cash flow analysis and options analyses
- Prepare written business cases
- Present recommendations to executive team including the Managing Director

**Business Partnering**
- Own the relationship with divisional finance stakeholders, including an understanding of program value drivers and working with internal stakeholders and divisional partners to create value.
- Adhoc analysis and support as required including development of business cases for business opportunities including the provision of commercial and financial input and presentation to the relevant stakeholders as required.

**Success measures **- Work with internal and divisional stakeholders to ensure success measures are agreed, targets are set, and insight and relevant reporting is in place.

**What you'll bring to the table**
- 10+ years’ experience in commercial analysis, corporate finance, M&A and/or business development roles
- A strong understanding of drivers of performance of a digital business, with experience working in a digital business in the Retail and/or Consumer Goods industry
- Experience in a start-up environment desirable
- Outstanding communication, engagement, and project management skills comfortable operating at the most senior levels in an organisation.
- Very strong written skills; comfortable preparing board quality documentation in PowerPoint and Word.
- Experience presenting up to board level.
- Strong numeracy and operational/financial modelling skills. High level of accuracy and attentional to detail.
- Ability to tell a story with insightful commentary, analysis, charts and visual graphics.
- Demonstrated ability to operate a as a team member and independently to achieve identified goals.
- Strategic / commercial mindset.
- Highly driven and results focused, takes on accountability for outcomes.
- High level interpersonal skills with the ability to influence outcomes in an organisation with multiple stakeholders and competing priorities in a changing environment
