**About the Role**:
The **Safety Manager**, based from our Sydney Olympic Park office with flexible work options, is responsible for providing technical safety support to our **SIXT car rental business** while also working across the NRMA group. This role is pivotal in enhancing a safe operation and culture through fostering engagement and participation in our safety, compliance, wellbeing and environmental programs and promoting proactive safety management to safeguard the health and wellbeing of all of our employees, members and the environment.
Specifically, your key responsibilities will be to:
- Contribute to the Safety performance improvement strategy & initiatives for SIXT Car Rentals
- Drive ongoing development, implementation and continuous improvement of the Safety Management systems to ensure they meet regulatory requirements and industry best practice
- Collaborate with other Divisional Business Units, in particular Risk Management & Regulatory Compliance, to implement specific safety strategies
- Support the business in the implementation and continuous improvement of HSE audit functions and contribute to the development and implementation of the Group Assurance Audit program
- Support the SIXT business in identifying training requirements to drive a proactive safety culture through effective leading, coaching, mentoring and communication
- Contribute to safety Performance Management Reviews, safety communication and consultation
- Monitor, review and encourage maximum reporting of all safety events through MySafety to ensure accurate and high quality data information
- Taking an active lead in conducting investigations, prioritising management of reported occurrences and conducting Hazard threat analysis and risk assessments
**About You**:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Health & Safety or related discipline
- Minimum 5 years multi-site safety experience or equivalent
- Sound knowledge of safety legislation, reporting systems and incident investigation
- Ability to lead, coach and mentor others with demonstrated experience in changing safety culture
- Strong stakeholder engagement across all levels of the business with a consultative approach and ability to influence others
- Ability to work autonomously with excellent time management and organisational skills
- Continuous improvement mindset with ability to inspire and lead the Safety & Wellbeing agenda across a diverse range of divisional business units.
- Current Australian drivers licence and the ability to travel interstate
