The team behind The Doss House opened their second venue in yet another beautiful heritage listed space in The Rocks. And so, we are on the lookout for new team members to be part of this exciting venture.

Combining our three loves; food, gin, and a great atmosphere with the historical charm of one of the city’s oldest suburbs, tucked away by the shadow of the Sydney Harbour Bridge.

The bar is a nod to the company's founder's great uncle Frank Mac, a colourful character full of stories and cheek, always to be found at the centre of his local village bar.

The original 1840s sandstone walls of the building Frank Mac’s now occupies a 120-person capacity bar which flows from outdoor seating on George Street, across two levels and into a back courtyard. Whereas the downstairs space feels cosy and intimate, dotted with vintage leather banquettes, dark jade and light orange velvet armchairs, low tables and a fireplace, the ground level you’ll walk into off George Street will reflect the energy of the bartenders working behind the almost five-metre-long oak bar. A handful of bar stools provide the perfect vantage point to take in the cocktail mixology while the dark velvet curtains, worn leather banquette seats and cosy fireplace of the ‘Snug’ provides groups of up to eight with a private space to retreat and relax.

Reporting to our Group General Manager, we are seeking an experienced Venue Manager with a strong knowledge of all things gin Your responsibilities include opening and closing of the venue, staff supervision and training, and shift management all while providing a safe and pleasant environment for both our staff and customers. This is a hands-on role and will require you to be front of house and lead by example and have the ability to maximise profitability that will ensure the success of our new venue.

**Responsibilities**
- Overseeing the daily running of the venue - service focused
- Motivating and driving a team to exceed their targets through product knowledge, upselling and goal setting
- Have a creative input to the design of new cocktail menus and promotions
- Ensure high quality presentation of the venue, staff and products
- Commitment and passion for providing exceptional customer service
- Sound communication skills to liaise with guests at all levels
- Driving sales through training and development, with an emphasis on bar and floor staff knowledge
- Stock control, participating in stock takes, rotation of stock and control of stock, within budget constraints
- Experience with the back of house and administrative processes including but not limited to ordering, supplier engagement, management compliance, beverage menu creation, COGS management and labour control.
- Sound knowledge of relevant legislation regarding service of alcohol and licensing

**Required**
- Minimum 3 years previous experience in a similar management role
- Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA)
- Have a keen attention to detail
- Demonstrate strong communication and organisational skills
- Be self-motivated and enthusiastic
- Have the ability to work in fast paced, high pressure environment
- Ability to develop strong customer and colleague relations
- Full working rights
- Strong understanding of POS/ reconciling systems and processes

**Salary**: $75,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
