This is a crucial role within West Swanson Terminal’s Operations team. As Labour Superintendent, you will utilise your experience and expertise in workforce planning to maximise the resources and skills available to the terminal. Working at the largest container terminal in Australia, you will play a key role in managing rosters, leave and resourcing to ensure terminal productivity and the delivery of business objectives.

**Key Accountabilities**
- Roster planning and management in a busy, 24-7 operation.
- Provide insights, data and recommendations on financial efficiency through labour expenditure and workforce planning.
- Manage leave and absences and make recommendations on rostering improvements.
- Liaise and provide constructive advice to the West Swanson Terminal leadership team regarding how to efficiently deploy staff within operational and budgetary constraints.
- Ensure the business is provided with sufficient staff with the appropriate skills to cover operational needs.
- Ensure payroll system accurately reflects actual work done and various leave accruals.
- Ensure that rostering practices are compliant with relevant EBA work rules and requirements.
- Manage disciplinary matters relating to availability and absences.
- Provide reports to support decision making process for operational labour utilisation, manning and skill levels

**Qualifications, Skills and Experience**
- Experience in workforce planning within a complex, 24-7 environment.
- Previous experience or knowledge in maritime/marine/stevedoring, material handling, logistics and/or transport operations (preferred).
- Experience with SN4, Microster, BI and other operating systems
- Experience in implementation and testing of terminal operating systems.
- Experience using business modelling techniques and evaluation methods to produce analysis and workforce planning recommendations.
- Ability to prepare concise and clear reports and procedures.
- Ability to interpret Enterprise Agreements and relevant Awards
- Effective customer service, oral and written communication skills as well as planning and organising skills.
