Exciting new opportunity for a Mechanical & Electrical Superintendent to join our Transport division supporting a major roads project
About the Role

Works to revitalise one of Melbourne’s busiest transport links, Transurban’s 3.4km Burnley Tunnel have commenced. In an Australian-first, the Burnley Tunnel Upgrade Project will see state-of-the-art pacemaker lighting installed to act as visual cues to help drivers maintain a consistent speed, as well as transforming the lighting with brighter, more energy efficient LEDs.

The Mechanical & Electrical Superintendent will be responsible for the execution and reporting of work methodology pertaining to the delivery of the Burnley Tunnel Upgrade Project. Responsible for allocating work fronts to crews and supervisors and ensuring access thereof. Provides oversight for electrical safety within the tunnel.

Nature of position: 12 Month Maximum Term, Full Time

Location: Collins Street, Melbourne

Reporting Line: Project Manager

Key Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and guidance to the supervisors and work crews, as well as management of internal and external relationships and contract performance
- Provide overall coordination between work fronts to ensure clashes are avoided and gaps are filled.
- Ensure access is organised with external stakeholders
- Liaise with Electrical Supervisors, crew members and the HSEQ Manager to ensure all works are delivered in accordance with all safety, quality, environmental, budgetary and scheduling requirements
- Liaise with the Project Manager to minimise duplication of effort on the network and drive delivery efficiencies where possible
- Ensure all Safety, Quality, Environmental, community, sustainability requirements are met as part of development and delivery of all maintenance and field works
- Ensure all environmental, community, safety and any other required approvals are in place

About You

To be successful in this role, you have strong demonstrated experience as a Superintendent / Supervisor ideally within the Transport/Construction industries. You will also demonstrate and possess the following:

- Current Electrical trade license
- Relevant OH&S certifications are advantageous
- Good knowledge of electrical and lighting systems
- Demonstrated experience in a tunnel environment
- Advanced problem-solving skills
- Good communication skills with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels
