**Job Description**:
A Business Development Manager is responsible for sourcing and engaging a pipeline of prospective merchants and converting those that meet the current sales strategy and are likely to become strong commercially focused partnerships.

**Responsibilities**
- Research and identify new business opportunities. This includes understanding the company's target market, identifying potential clients, and assessing the competition.
- Responsible for generating leads by cold calling and networking events.
- Create & execute campaigns to drive more leads into the business.
- Qualify all leads to ensure they align with the company’s strategy.
- Nurture all leads in the pipeline.
- Negotiate contracts, convert leads, and manage the on boarding process.
- Utilize SugarCRM to record activity and track lead progress.
- Ensure a collaborative handover of the on boarded merchant to the Account Managers.
- Provide regular reports to senior management on sales performance, market trends, and other key performance indicators.
- Assist the Sales Team where required to ensure service levels are maintained.

**Key Selection Criteria**
- Previous experience in business development role with a strong understanding of sales pipeline management including sourcing leads and generating opportunity through your network.
- Strives for continuous improvements in job knowledge through training, education, and experience.
- As a front line employee, able to identify merchant risk, reporting instances immediately back to the business.
- Excellent time management and prioritization skills and able to work independently.
- Ability to identify underlying issues or problem in the resolution of issues.
- Requirement to have excellent communication skills, and the ability to build strong relationships with prospective clients.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to put together and deliver presentations.
- Displays resilience, drive, confidence, strategic planning, and negotiation.
