**THE POSITION**:
Fairfield City Open Libraries is seeking a creative and community focused Programs and Engagement Officer to join our Library team on a permanent, full-time basis. This role plays a key part in delivering high quality programs that support literacy, lifelong learning, cultural engagement, and recreation across our five library branches. This is an exciting opportunity to help shape the cultural, educational, and recreational experiences of our diverse and vibrant community.

As the Programs and Engagement Officer, you’ll work collaboratively to design and deliver programs for people of all ages. This includes activities that enhance digital skills and promote STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) learning, as well as programs that integrate digital technology, creativity, and literacy. You’ll contribute to a diverse calendar of events with a strong focus on innovation, accessibility, and community relevance.

This role involves working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment and contributing to the delivery of frontline services through a rotating roster, including evenings and weekends.

**ESSENTIAL**:

- Tertiary degree qualifications which confer eligibility for professional membership of the Australian Library and Information Association, or equivalent, and proven experience developing and delivering programs and events in a Library environment.
- Demonstrated excellence in program delivery and event coordination.
- Demonstrated experience in the development and evaluation of programs and staff training.
- Demonstrated understanding of program marketing trends and event booking systems.
- Proven ability to engage with internal and external partners and communicate respectfully and effectively with people of all ages and from diverse backgrounds, cultures and abilities
- Proven ability to provide excellence in customer service, with the ability to confidently and proactively engage with library customers and value-add to the library customer experience.
- Demonstrated effective time management and prioritisation skills with the ability to balance competing workloads and deliver within deadlines.
- Current high level digital literacy skills, with the confidence to support customers with diverse technology. This includes online and virtual collections and services across multiple devices, platforms, apps and software.
- Proven ability to work in a team environment that requires flexibility of shifts, locations and commitment to implementing a positive workplace culture
- _ Experience in contributing to improvements to a quality management system or suggestions for other business improvements._
- _ Current NSW Driver’s Licence - Class 3, and preparedness to drive_
- _ Possess a valid NSW “Working with Children Check” number._

**_ SALARY & EMPLOYMENT CONDITIONS:_**
- Permanent full-time position, 70 hours per fortnight
- This position is a Grade 4, salary range is $77,652 p.a. with progression to $83,617 p.a. on demonstrated competencies, with performance progression to $90,957 p.a, plus 12% Super
- Flexible working hours are available.
- A penalty rate in lieu of weekend work
- A uniform is provided
