**THE OPPORTUNITY**

We have an exciting opportunity for a **WHS & Injury Management Officer **in Sydney NSW. Your main responsibility will be to promote safety & wellness awareness in an effort to reduce risks and prevent injuring, in addition to managing both workplace injuries and personal health conditions to facilitate safe early intervention strategies to achieve timely and sustainable return to work outcomes.

Employee wellbeing will remain the focal point for all your activities. You will be required to actively engage staff across the business by providing advice on injury and illness, handling return to work cases and workers compensation claims through maintaining a commitment to engagement, consultation, and continual improvement.

You may be required to travel across our NSW sites on adhoc basis.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Support the WHS Manager in developing a health, safety and wellbeing framework and documented policies and procedures to align with ISO45001 and WHS/OHS compliance
- Consult injured workers, their supervisors, allied health providers, insurers with regards to return-to-work responsibilities and progress.
- Arrange ‘Return to Work’ Plans for injured workers (work and non-work related) in consultation with injured parties, supervisor, team leaders, external stakeholders, insurers, and medical practitioners.
- Overseeing Workers Compensation insurance policies and renewals.
- Under the direction of the WHS Manager, collaborate with internal & external stakeholders as required in investigation of incidents, near misses and unsafe working conditions.

**Skills & Qualifications**
- Experience working in multiple workers compensation jurisdiction
- Incident Investigation (eg: ICAM, ARC, TapRoot)
- Advanced computer skills in Microsoft Suite - Word, Excel,PowerPoint and SharePoint
- Technical expertise in health and safety with broad WHS risk profiles
- Previous experience in injury management and return to work including Workers Compensation Claims Management and legislation
- Certified Return to Work Coordinator (multi-state preferred)
- Certificate IV or higher qualifications in Work, Health and Safety and/or similar qualifications in a relevant field
