The State Insurance Regulatory Authority (SIRA) is looking for a Policy Officer to join the Scheme Design, Policy & Performance (Workers Compensation) Directorate

This ongoing position is in our workers compensation policy team.

**About Us**

The State Insurance Regulatory Authority (SIRA) regulates three statutory insurance schemes in NSW - Workers Compensation, Compulsory Third Party (CTP) and Home Building Compensation, and also has some regulatory functions in other NSW insurance schemes including the Lifetime Care and Support and Dust Diseases schemes.

This role sits in the Scheme Design, Policy & Performance (Workers Compensation) Directorate. We work across a broad range of policy issues in workers compensation including legal, financial and operational issues.

**Your responsibilities will include**:

- Undertaking research and analysis for a range of policy projects and initiatives.
- Drafting correspondence.
- Providing project management support for policy initiatives.
- Working with internal and external stakeholders to inform and develop policy initiatives.
- Collaborating with workers compensation, personal injury and work health and safety professionals from NSW and other jurisdictions.
- Contributing to the work of the broader workers compensation policy team as needed.

- Comfortable working with data and legislation.
- Good stakeholder and relationship management skills.
- The ability to produce strong written comms.
- Project management skills.
- Ability to operate effectively in a complex, sensitive and changing environment and work across multiple tasks.
- An interest in and curiosity about personal injury schemes, and/or experience in a policy or personal injury background will be highly regarded.
