**About the role**
The **Climate Change Adaptation Officer** sits within the Climate Change and City Resilience branch and offers an exciting opportunity to support the City of Melbourne in transitioning to a resilient, well adapted and zero emissions city.
This role plays a key part in delivering impactful outcomes for our community and supporting the strategic goals of the City of Melbourne.
**A little more about the role**
- Contribute to the projects led by the Climate Adapted and Water Sensitive City team, that reduce the risk of climate change to the City of Melbourne.
- Work with designers, project managers and asset managers to implement a new Sustainable Assests Policy.
- Manage and deliver projects aligned with City of Melbourne's Climate Change Adaptation Strategy and Municipal Integrated Water Management Plan.
- Foster relationships and networks that support the work of the team and Branch.

**About you**
You are comfortable with facilitating project management while providing strategic advice to internal stakeholders. You bring passion, insight, and collaboration to everything you do.
**What you will bring to the role**
- Knowledgeable and have an understanding of climate change adaptation, water or sustainable urban renewal/infrastructure or related field.
- Appropriate tertiary qualification in environment, sustainability, public policy, science, or business related field or equivalent level of experience.
- Experience in supporting delivery of sustainable outcomes either within an organisation, through influencing stakeholders or through developing and implementing strategic solutions.
- Prior project management capability including demonstrated ability to deliver projects on time and on budget, and to balance and respond to competing priorities
- High level in written and oral communication, interpersonal and presentation skills, including negotiations and influencing skills.
