**About the Department**
The Women’s Mental Health Service (WMHS) provides mental health services to the Royal Women’s Hospital (RWH) at Parkville under the umbrella of the Social Model of Health Directorate. We are a small and dynamic team of clinicians dedicated to the mental health care of women, many of whom come from disadvantaged backgrounds. Our major areas of activity revolve around clinical work, and education & training. Clinical services cover maternity, gynaecology and women’s cancer and neonatal services.
**About the role**
The Administrative Officer reports to and supports both the Head of Psychiatry and the Manager Psychology. The incumbent is responsible for the provision of efficient confidential administrative tasks, including diary/clinic management, scheduling of team meetings, information management and general admin duties. You will be the front of house for patients contacting the service about clinic appointments.
A regular day will see you:
- Provide a high level of Admin support to all patients, visitors and staff of the Women’s Mental health team
- Diary and clinic Management
- Information and data management
- Additional administrative tasks as assigned

We are looking for someone with demonstrated ability to work within a team environment and manage phone conversations with clients who may at times be distressed, in a respectful and appropriate manner.
You’ll bring with you:
- High level interpersonal skills, including verbal and written
- High level computer literacy including ability to utilize the hospital electronic medical record and other databases
- Demonstrated ability to work within an atmosphere of ongoing development and change
- Excellent organizational ability and capacity to foresee service administration needs and maintain systems that assist staff and Managers
- Well-developed office management skills
