**About the role**

Are you passionate about delivering quality and meaningful communications to the community? Want to be surrounded by a fun and forward-thinking communications team? An exciting opportunity has opened up at the City of Canada Bay for a Communications Coordinator to provide strategic media liaison and develop successful communication plans. In this role you will provide a range of high-quality video, social, written, and other communications to support projects, operations and Council strategies.

**About You**

As the Communications Coordinator you will play a key role in developing and delivering strategic communication plans for Council initiatives. In this role you will:

- Write media releases and other communication materials including newsletter content, social media posts, and printed collateral. This also involves pitching to media and coordinating media opportunities.
- Plan and deliver a range of internal communications to support organisational objectives and employee engagement; and
- Plan and implement high quality communication activities and plans for Council projects that enhance Council’s corporate brand.

**Key Requirements**
- Degree qualifications (or similar) in communications, journalism, or marketing
- Minimum of two to three years’ experience in a similar role, including experience in planning and implementing strategic communications plans and dealing with media
- Strong writing and copy-editing skills and experience using a range of social media platforms
- Experience partnering with internal stakeholders and managing multiple projects and priorities while meeting deadlines
- An understanding of online communication and website management, as well as a working knowledge of Adobe Premiere Pro and InDesign are highly desirable
- A current Driver’s Licence is required.
