**The Position**
We are urgently seeking a Specialist Support Coordinator - Level 3 to join our dynamic team.
Working with the National Disability Agency (NDIA) and multiple stakeholders, the role of a Specialist Support Coordinator is vital within the NDIS network. The Specialist Support Coordinator has extensive experience in providing complex supports and is the first point of contact for participants and their families to understand and implement funded supports through a network of service providers.
The responsibilities of the role include:
- Key liaison person for potential and new Focal clients requiring Level 3 Support Coordination
- Assess complex clients’ needs - plan, develop and implement educational, training and support programs whilst maintaining clients' choice and control
- Identify and overcome significant and complex barriers impacting participant’s ability to access and maintain their supports
- Ability to manage crisis situations and mitigate risks to client welfare
- Design service plans that assist Focal complex participants achieve their goals in capacity building through a coaching approach in line with their NDIS plan
- Work collaboratively with external stakeholders to achieve a cohesive approach to supporting clients with high to very high intensity supports.
- Work alongside health services including Allied Health, Mental Health and Disability-related services and hospitals
- Liaise with NDIS and mainstream services in a way that demonstrates competency and clarity around navigating all aspects of NDIS
- Comply with all relevant legislation and codes of conduct
- Keep up to date with NDIS systems and practices
**What we are looking for**
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in social work / psychology or related a must
- Good understanding of the NDIS
- Previous experience with NDIS and/or disability services highly regarded
- Strong computer literacy skills and ability to adapt to new platforms
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong organisational skills and ability to manage competing priorities
- Ability to develop and maintain positive relationships
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Shows initiative and able to work independently
- Demonstrated reliability and solutions focused with a can-do attitude
- Open to feedback and demonstrated desire for professional development
- Current Positive Notice - Working with Children Screening Check (Blue Card) and NDIS Card or willingness to obtain prior to commencement

- Experience working with people with disabilities from diverse cultures & backgrounds
- Experience with complex behaviours and mental health
