We have an exciting opportunity for an experience **Construction Manager** to join our **Construction **Delivery **Team** in **Sydney**. This role is responsible for leading all construction activities, ensuring Project Teams are delivering to the highest standard and optimising resources. The Construction Manager will ensure all projects are delivered on time and on budget without compromising quality or safety. This role will report to the **General Manager (NSW/QLD)**.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Adopting a holistic senior leadership role in the organisation.
- Assisting in the development and maintenance of strategic partnerships with contractors and suppliers.
- Anaylsing buildability of potential opportunities and provide advice on potential time, resource, and cost savings.
- Assisting with the tender review process, including providing high level assistance with tender submissions.
- Attending and participating in tender interviews, meetings or presentations as required.
- Conducting site visits regularly to ensure that all project deliverables are being met, the teams are well managed and meet compliance obligations.
- Chairing weekly project team meetings and encourage teams to share their successes and challenges to foster growth.Ensuring that all project teams use, maintain, and meet all policy and system obligations.
- Driving a project based 360-degree review and feedback with all teams with clear strategy on implementation of continuous improvement opportunities.
- Ensuring a robust risk management environment is maintained.
Encouraging and coach team members to ensure growth, development, and success.
- Ensuring all tasks and activities within the project lifecycle comply with WHS legislation, relevant State jurisdiction, and policies and procedures.
- Establishing transparency and efficiency with all financial reporting.
- Evaluating subcontractor performance determining preferred list and improvement opportunities.
- Participating in the process of programmed audits.
- Monitoring and reviewing the status of project programmes ensuring project milestones are being achieved.
- Reviewing and have a clear understanding of the company’s integrated management systems, pertaining to WHS and your responsibilities.
- Regular internal reviews of forecasts/budgets with the project teams to drive and achieve project profit goals.
- Strategically advising and supporting the General Manager to achieve objectives and other business opportunities in line with the business’s strategic direction.
- Working with the HSEQ representative, consultants and industry bodies to ensure consistent safety for all team members and contractors.
- Working with the General Manager to ensure adequate labour allocation for all forecasted future opportunities.
Successful applicants must have:
- Qualified in Diploma/Degree in Construction Management or or equivalent
- Certificate III in Work Health and Safety or equivalent
- White Card / Construction Induction Cards
- Current Senior First Aid Certification
- Certified Leadership training
- Minimum 5 years as a Construction Manager or equivalent
- Minimum 15 years work experience across facets of the construction industry and at least 5 years specifically in corporate fit-out projects
- Proven track record in Project and Site management
- Experience in risk management
- Relevant knowledge of health and safety and building/construction legislation
- Ability to lead and mentor teams
- Project financial reporting and cost management
- Strong communication and presentation skills
