Established in 2000, Australian brand LEE MATHEWS delicately weaves colour, texture and prints into sophisticated and refined collections for the modern woman; lifestyle separates in linen and cotton meet statement dresses in luxurious silks. Inspired by the interests of the founder, Lee, prints and têxtiles are derived from her love for art, silhouettes from her passion for architecture and colour palettes from her vast library of books and travel.

**About the role**:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our head office team in Leichhardt, Sydney as our Womenswear Designer. We are seeking a talented and highly motivated individual who can combine their solid technical ability with persistent creativity to construct beautiful garments, growing and evolving the LEE MATHEWS seasonal collections.

Alongside our CEO and founder and with our customer at heart, you will develop concepts and mood boards as a strong and cohesive foundation for the development of a range of functional, aesthetic and innovative designs, in line with the brands handwriting and consistent with brand vision and direction. Collaborating with multiple teams across the company and using your industry experience, you will research trends and historical best sellers, create design concepts, sketches and tech packs, select fabrics and trims, and oversee the production process, to follow the garments through from concept to purchasable fruition.

**Skills**:

- Bachelor’s degree in design or fine arts, or college degree in fashion design or related field
- 3+ years design experience - luxury/premium fashion brand is preferred
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel and Adobe Illustrator
- Availability to travel for research and product development
- Ability to do sketches by hand and virtually
- Proven experience in creating high quality CADs and tech packs
- Excellent design and conceptual skills
- Excellent sense of style and colour
- An extensive knowledge of premium garment construction, fabrics and trims
- Experience in communicating effectively and meaningfully with offshore suppliers
- Proven ability to self-manage your time and adhere to critical deadlines
- Exceptional organisational skills
- Ability to communicate effectively (verbally, written and visually) within the product team and with other teams within the company
- Able to take constructive feedback and work collaboratively towards achieving the brand’s vision

Pay: $100,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
