**About the role**

We are looking for a dedicated and skilled Sub-Editor to join the Sydney team on a full time basis, where you will work for SBS News' Digital platforms.

You will be:

- Preparing content ready for publication across SBS News digital output
- Sub-edit, amend, and publish copy derived from wires and original content from SBS News journalists to ensure balance, factual correctness and adherence with style guides and Codes of Practice
- Sub-edit across different verticals, adapting to different tones and styles for copy including video, social posts, graphic explainers and data visualisations in a timely fashion to maximise audience growth and engagement
- Develop engaging headlines engineered for SEO performance
- Develop and maintain a strong working knowledge of CMS operations and best practice to publish content to the SBS News site when required

**About you**

You must be a confident and creative editor with a strong eye for detail and the angles that matter to our audience.

You’ll need an understanding of media law, flawless subbing, and strong headline writing skills.

You’ll be committed to maintaining our editorial integrity and maximising our publishing reach.

The successful applicant will have demonstrated experience as a sub-editor.
