**The Role**

We are looking for a dedicated and skilled Sub-Editor to join the Sydney team on a casual basis, where you will work for SBS News' Digital platforms.
- Preparing content ready for publication across SBS News digital output
- Sub-edit, amend, and publish copy derived from wires and original content from SBS News journalists to ensure balance, factual correctness and adherence with style guides and Codes of Practice
- Sub-edit across different verticals, adapting to different tones and styles for copy including video, social posts, graphic explainers and data visualisations in a timely fashion to maximise audience growth and engagement
- Develop engaging headlines engineered for SEO performance
- Develop and maintain a strong working knowledge of CMS operations and best practice to publish content to the SBS News site when required

**About you**
- A confident and creative editor with a strong eye for detail and the angles that matter to our audience.
- An understanding of media law, flawless subbing, strong headline writing skills.
- A committed to maintaining our editorial integrity and maximising our publishing reach.
- The successful applicant will have demonstrated experience as a sub-editor.
