About the role
As the Principal Advisor, you will be key in leading the development and implementation of various strategic workforce management programs and initiatives across the employee life cycle.

About the team
The People and Culture Unit is part of QCAA's Strategy, Planning and Corporate Support Division. The team provides strategic and operational advice and services across the full range of people management functions to QCAA's senior leadership teams, managers, and employees.

Your key responsibilities
- Plan, develop, lead, and evaluate significant and complex workforce projects and strategies to build organisational capability, ensuring responsiveness to meet the current and future needs of the organisation and best practice workforce management principles.
- Lead the development, design and facilitation of key learning and development projects including conducting a capability and development needs analysis, leadership development, and career progression strategy.
- Provide expert, strategic advice to senior management and stakeholders on issues affecting workforce planning and management within QCAA, including supporting the development of skills, capability and understanding in these areas.
- Partner with key stakeholders to assist in the management and resolution of complex workforce issues and to ensure the delivery of responsive, influential, and effective services.
- Manage individual complex employees including rehabilitation cases as required.
- Research and aanalyse risk, trends or improvement opportunities, research multiple sources of information to generate options and solutions consistent with contemporary practices and provide well informed evidence-based recommendations to drive quality decision making.
- Identify and collaborate in the development of workforce data and reporting to build capability in managers knowledge and management of workforce.
- Prepare high-quality written documentation such as policy documents, submissions for action, reports, briefing notes and other correspondence for senior stakeholders on a range of complex and confidential workforce management issues.
- Evaluate, develop, and implement a policy framework and associated workforce management processes to ensure compliance with legislative and industrial obligations, governance arrangements, mitigation of workplace risks, and continuous improvement in organisational outcomes.
- Coordinate the delivery of operational and strategic workforce planning and workforce compliance reporting accurately and in a timely manner with the Manager, People and Culture Unit.
- Collaborate in the leadership of the People and Culture Team to ensure coordinated and timely approaches to deliver business requirements across the organisation.
- As a leader, actively demonstrate and promote a workplace culture of gender equality, respectful relationships, diversity, inclusion, employee safety and support.
- Other duties as appropriate and directed.
