**Who are we looking for?**

We are seeking a Engagement Officer to join Research Infrastructure, Research Portfolio, Academic Division.

The goal of the Engagement Officer is to ensure end-users and stakeholders utilise VISER facilities and infrastructure reliably, effectively, and with ease. The position supports events and functions taking place in spaces such as The Cube and Sphere, as well as the VISER Lab, including supporting researchers to access technology effectively and safely. The Engagement Officer will regularly work with content authoring tools, file servers, and digital media presentation tools and contribute to successful team operations as a whole.

**About the area**

Research Infrastructure encompasses a range of centrally supported, world-class Research Facilities aligned to QUT’s strategic research strengths. The VISER group is our base for research, teaching, and learning across digital technologies which enable researchers and industry to gain insight into challenging problems, improve on and create new processes and work practices, and to enable outcomes to be communicated in innovative and effective ways to diverse groups. To achieve this, the VISER team undertakes research, development, and consultancy within visualisation, interaction, and integrated audio-visual and IT systems of digital environments in collaborative and commercial capacities across academic, government, and industry sectors.

**What you need to succeed**
- Education, training and/or experience equivalent to the completion of an associate diploma and at least two years of subsequent relevant work experience.
- Demonstrated experience across two or more of: user-facing event support, activity scheduling and coordination, digital content management, digital content authoring.
- Ability to work in digitally enabled environments, with familiarity with at least three of these audio-visual and IT technologies:

- Desktop and laptop computers;
- LCD displays and digital projectors;
- Microsoft Office;
- The Adobe Creative Suite;
- Web content management systems.

4. Demonstrated problem-solving skills and a proven record of contributing to successful end-user outcomes in digitally enabled environments.

5. Interpersonal and written communication skills that demonstrate a capacity to work effectively with the team, other stakeholders and directly with end users.

6. Ability to assist in the preparation and delivery of presentations, demonstrations at workshops, meetings, and seminars.

7. Demonstrated willingness to work within and continuously improve the team and its culture.
