Bis are now currently recruiting for a Purchasing Officer to join our team on a 11-month fixed-term contract, based out of our Tomago Office. Reporting to the Supply Chain Superintendent, the Purchasing Officer is responsible for facilitating the administrative purchasing activities for the Underground Coal Services Division.

By being responsible for raising, approving, and expediting of all purchase orders, resolving AP queries, and monitoring the shared Underground Requisitions mailbox, this role is pivotal in controlling the spend across the Underground Coal Services.

**Key Responsibilities for this role include**:

- Providing a high level of administrative support to our underground coal services supply team.
- Perform warehouse stock management duties, including cycle counts, and inventory audits.
- Updating, raising, and receipting of purchase orders, along with performing queries on unmatched invoices and purchase orders.
- Liaising with a variety of suppliers across different industries.
- Facilitate vendor managed consumables.
- Reconciling invoices in Oracle (JDE) against goods/services rendered by suppliers.
- Assist in processing stock returns and transfers as required.
- Communicate with a variety of internal and external stakeholders
- Perform any other general ad-hoc supply chain duties as required.

**The successful applicant will possess**:

- High level of initiative and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail with the ability to manage fluctuating workloads.
- Intermediate/Advanced computer literacy (Microsoft Office Suite)
- Experience using JDEdwards, invoicing, and purchasing experience (highly desirable)
- Underground mining machinery knowledge (advantage)
