COREASSIST was founded out of a sincere concern for the health and happiness of people with disabilities. Our team helps people with a wide variety of needs, such as those with learning disabilities, autism, physical disabilities, ABIs, Alzheimer's, dementia, and mental health issues, to live more independently and realise their full potential.
Delivered in a variety of support models from 2:1 to 1:1 to small group settings, this service may require you to work in a client's home, such as a group home, an aged facility, a private residence, the community, or at our Centre.

**To name just a few examples of what a Disability Support Worker does, we can say that they are responsible for**:
- Help getting around town for things like doctor's visits, group outings, and grocery shopping.
- Self-care, such as bathing, toileting, continence management, and grooming.
- Household responsibilities such as cleaning, cooking, and shopping.
- To ensure that the services, incidents, and supports provided to our participants are in line with their aims, we must keep detailed records of all of these things.
- Helping patients take their medication as prescribed or taking the medication for them entirely.
**Abilities and Prerequisites**:
- Work well independently and collaboratively with our friendly team; demonstrate initiative and problem-solving skills; have a strong work ethic; and have excellent oral and written communication skills.
- A vibrant and optimistic soul who can recognise the best in others.
possesses the skill to assist people in their homes and communities while maintaining a focus on each individual's unique needs.
- Experience working with people who suffer from mental illness, intellectual disability, or physical disability is prefered, as is a nursing background.
**Important Individual Needs**:
- Qualification equivalent to at least a Certificate III in disability/individual support.
- A minimum of a year of experience in the field of disability support.
- Prior work in the field of mental health and/or elder care is highly desired.

- Ability to assist people who use mobility aids, such as walkers, canes, and hoists, or a willingness to learn.
- Knowledge of assisting Participants with basic housekeeping, cooking, and daily living tasks.
- Superior abilities in both oral and written expression.
- Completely vaccinated against Covid-19 and open to receiving additional vaccinations as recommended by NSW Health.
- Individuals selected must be mobile within the city of Sydney.
- You'll need access to your own reliable vehicle for work purposes, so be prepared to provide proof of insurance and registration
**Required to be flexible with work hours and shift rotations**:
- 6 a.m. start time for morning shift
- Work in the afternoon (until midnight or overnight)
- Always available for call (as per the schedule)
- Participant roster that shifts regularly
- Adaptability in accommodating weekend needs.
**Licence/Certification**:
- Legal NSW Driver's Licence.
- Valid certification in CPR and First Aid.
- Valid within 5 years: NSW Working with Children's Check (WWC), NDIS Worker Screening Check (NDISWC), and Police Check
- Validation of NDIS Orientation.
- New Employee NDIS Orientation Course Completion Diploma.
- Prevention of infection education.
- Covid-19 immunisation is required.
