Join a Federal Government department in a centre lead function playing a pivotal role in the provision of professional, expert advice and support on all facets of procurement and contracting across the department.

The Procurement Section works collaboratively to maintain consistency of processes and compliance with corporate and Commonwealth policies, including the Public Governance, Performance and Accountability Act and Rules, and Financial Delegations. The role supports stakeholders and internal clients undertaking a diverse range of procurement activities from simple to complex.

**Your new role**

Working in a supportive team environment, duties of the position include:

- Providing accurate procurement and contracting advice and support across the department, including effective participation in all stages of procurement processes
- Maintaining consistency and compliance with the Commonwealth Procurement Frameworks
- Quality assurance, undertaking procurement/contract data entry
- Reporting support (compliance, annual report, AusTender)
- Proactive engagement with internal clients
- Assisting with building procurement and contracting capability across the department
- Contributing to continuous improvement such as ongoing development and maintenance of systems, and procurement/contracting processes and tools
- Database administration.

**What you'll need to succeed**
- Demonstrated experience and capability in procurement - a practical understanding of the Commonwealth Procurement Framework, preferably supported by relevant qualifications
- Strong focus on client engagement/delivery to a high standard (build relationships provide accurate, timely and consistent services)
- Well-developed communication and problem-solving skills with a high attention to detail
- Work effectively in a team environment to achieve high quality outcomes

**What you'll get in return**

This role is ideally seeking someone who already holds a permanent APS4 or APS5 role in the Federal Government.
