**Purpose of the Role**:
Work closely with the CFO to meet the strategic intent of the Financial Services department by contributing to:
Improve the Financial Acumen throughout the Council
Financial Strength and Sustainability
Improved Strategic Facilitation
**About the role**:
The Coordinator Financial Planning and Business Planning is a senior leadership role within the Financial Services team. The position is responsible for the effective leadership, integration and oversight of Council’s long term financial planning, budgets and reporting, internal controls, financial systems management, and financial compliance.
The role works closely with the CFO, this position provides strategic and operational advice to support high-quality decision-making, financial sustainability, and performance transparency across the Council.
**About you - You will bring the following skills and experience to the role**:
Tertiary degree qualifications in accounting (CPA and/or CA membership) with significant experience in a similar role.
Demonstrated ability in preparing and managing budgets including proven knowledge on asset accounting.
Demonstrated ability in preparing the long-term financial plan.
Demonstrated ability and experience in leading, coaching and mentoring a high-performance team focused on strong customer service.
