About the Role
Are you a skilled technical support professional with a passion for IT hardware and a knack for efficient coordination? If you're experienced in procuring, configuring, and supporting a wide range of hardware devices, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as a Hardware Support Analyst. **Key responsibilities include**:
As a Hardware Support Analyst, you will play a critical role in ensuring our organization's hardware systems are efficiently procured, set up, and maintained. Your key responsibilities will include:
**Hardware Procurement**: Collaborate with stakeholders to determine hardware requirements for Stores, Head Office users, and Distribution Centres. Order and procure IT hardware, including mobile devices, tablets, laptops, desktops, printers, and peripherals, based on specific needs.
**Vendor Coordination**: Liaise with vendors and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of hardware equipment. Maintain effective communication to track orders and manage delivery schedules.
**Hardware Configuration**: Set up and configure hardware devices according to established standards and user requirements. This includes building/configuring desktops, laptops, and Thin Clients for new users or new stores
**Documentation**: Create comprehensive documentation of hardware setup procedures, troubleshooting steps, and best practices. This documentation will contribute to our knowledge base, ensuring efficient issue resolution.
**End-User Training and Support**: Provide training and support to end-users on hardware usage and maintenance. Your guidance will empower users to enhance their productivity and efficiency while using hardware devices effectively.
**Queue Management**: Manage the unassigned queue and perform triage on all self-service requests through the Service Delivery portal. This will involve prioritizing and directing requests for timely resolution.
About You
**Experience**: A minimum of 1 year of experience in a technical support role, with a focus on hardware procurement, configuration, and user support using Remote Control/Access software (TeamViewer, RDP etc.)
**Hardware Proficiency**: Demonstrated experience in ordering, configuring, and setting up various hardware devices, including mobile devices, tablets, laptops, desktops, printers, peripherals and POS
**Software**: In-depth knowledge of current Microsoft Windows desktop platforms (Win10) and MS Office suite - installation, configuration and support
**Networking**: Basic understanding of networking (DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, networking equipment inc. configuration)
**ITIL Methodology**: Familiarity with ITIL methodologies is an advantage, enhancing your ability to align hardware support processes with industry best practices.
**Communication**: Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective interaction with vendors, end-users, and team members.
**Time Management**: Exceptional time management skills to ensure timely hardware procurement, setup, and support.
