Wafex has a sophisticated flower business, combining its relationships with local and domestic growers and its strengths of global sourcing and flower connection, logistics and quality assurance, to provide clients with an extensive range of quality flowers.

Today Wafex encompasses over 100 staff across 4 continents, 300 customers and over 500 growers.

Wafex is seeking a motivated **Cold Storage Manager, **who is looking to grow their career in a true leadership role. You will provide coaching and mentoring to the warehouse team, ensuring results are achieved and the development of the team continues to grow, maintaining a positive and progressive culture.

**Key Tasks and Responsibilities will include**:

- Correct storage and of various types of flowers.
- Knowledge required around the correct storage temperatures for different flower types.
- Rotations of flowers on a first in first out basis.
- Correct identification and tracking of flower consignments to identify problem shipments in line with ISO 9001 quality assurance requirements.
- Cleanliness, hygiene and repairs and maintenance of all cool room equipment including trucks.
- Understanding of segregation space and identification of flowers that have undergone fumigation awaiting packing.
- Correct preparation and fumigation of shipments to meet overseas quarantine requirements.
- Manage the three quarantine property accreditations - Green Snail, Tomato Potato Psylid and export authority.
- Accredited Quarantine officer to allow inspection and sign off on Phyto Sanitary certificates.
- Working with operations manager to ensure timely delivery of product from cool rooms to packing stations for efficient packing and avoiding delays in this process.
- Managing and recording of any items not suitable for sale (Shrinkage). Record and recommend improvements.

**To be successful for this role, we expect that you possess the following attributes.**
- Bachelor’s degree, Cert III or IV or Diploma in Leadership/ Management
- Previous experience working as a Team Leader or Team Manager is a must
- Previous experience working in perishables, fresh flowers most desirable
- Good floral knowledge - Extremely Advantageous
- Proven track record delivering results in a warehouse environment
- Strong multi-tasking skills
- Team leadership to ensure key benchmarks and KPI's are achieved
- Ensure customer expectations and service levels are met on a daily basis
- High level written and verbal communication skills
- Experience in driving a strong “safety” culture.

**Salary**: $60,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
