We are seeking an experienced Commercial Manager to join the ALM Commercial team on an 18-month maternity leave cover. This role is integral in supporting the Liquor Division in ensuring the business delivery of short term and long-term profitability.

You will achieve this through the provision of critical insight of the detail behind the business including the identification of trends and anomalies.

What you’ll do
- Ownership of end-to-end budget and quarterly forecasting process for liquor pillar which includes Coordinating and consolidating the P&L from the State and national business units.
- Owning and building the Capital budgets
- Preparation and presentation of commentary and analysis to Metcash GLT for quarterly results, budgets and forecasts
- Business partnering with National general managers to Prepare budget for ALM National Office, IBA and IBP Ownership and development of end-to-end financial systems for budget and forecast (Excel & TM1) processes for Liquor Pillar which includes coordinating State inputs and consolidations
- Leadership and development of three direct reports and a full team of 5 to deliver business requirements
- Preparation and continuous improvement of Quarterly review pack - co-ordinating inputs from state teams and general managers
- Attend/run monthly P&L reviews internally for State Commercial Teams and attend Group Profit review for Liquor Pillar providing meaning financial insights to Group team for results
- Manage National Office P&L ensuring all accruals are accurate and detailed
- Oversee the calculation of monthly customer rebates and ensure invoices and payments are processed according to terms agreements
- Ownership and review National Balance Sheet reconciliations monthly
- Oversee & manage Trading Terms accruals and analysis across ALM & IBA
- Assist with half year and full year audit sample requests
- Review working capital position monthly focusing on inventory holdings
- Review Capital requests for approval as member of LIC
- Oversee Accounts Payable functions and queries for Liquor Pillar

What you’ll bring
- 5+ years demonstrated experience within an accounting, analytical or related commercial role with previous FMCG / Liquor / Warehouse and Distribution experience is highly desirable
- Previous demonstrated leadership experience
- CPA/ CA qualified or working towards
- Experience using TM1, Microsoft D365 or other ERP system
- Advanced skills in Excel and Microsoft Office suite
- Outstanding analytical & problem-solving skills
- Advanced written and verbal communication skills
- Experience in dealing with internal and external customers
- Attention to detail and ability to manage and prioritise multiple tasks
