We’re hiring two production leaders to help rapidly grow Bardee’s manufacturing capacity, from the daily production-oriented tasks to implementing the big initiatives that take Bardee to the global stage.

Our production leaders coordinate the production team to ensure the safest and most efficient operation of Bardee’s processing lines. Bardee is reshaping the global food system. To do this we’re transforming food waste into carbon positive protein and rich organic fertiliser with insects. This is a mission we believe in deeply. We have a fast-growing team located in Melbourne of over 30 hard-working people who genuinely look out for each other and love what they do. ‍

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Onboard and lead a team of operators running Bardee’s food waste, insect protein,fertiliser and post-processing manufacturing lines.
- Manage and lead our production lines. You will be accountable to meet production targets, completion of digital production logs and accurate production data entry and inventories.
- Provide ongoing coaching, training, development and support to our production team and ensure their skills are developed and enhanced.
- Ensure all machines and equipment are correctly used and maintained; report breakdowns as required and manage scheduled maintenance and repairs.
- Lead trials for new production techniques and systems of work to improve manufacturing practices and productivity.
- Ensure compliance with safety procedures and maintain rigorous food safety, hygiene and quality standards using HACCP and Good Manufacturing Practices(GMP) principles. This includes assisting and actively participating in maintaining quality and safety accreditations (audits).
- Create, document and implement SOPs within our HACCP and Quality Management Systems.
- Ensure the safety and quality of products going to customers and manage the reprocessing for any product defects or non-conformities.

Ideally, you also have experience in:

- Creating process improvements and continuous improvement in food, animal feed or fertiliser manufacturing.
- Developing and implementing Quality Management System for HACCP. Bonus points for ISO9001, Feedsafe, Organic certification or similar.
