Department Overview Our Services team is part of the Motorola Solutions business covering the Australia and New Zealand region. We are a professional services team that delivers systems integration projects and managed services to our customers.
We deliver customer focused worldclass, leading edge, endtoend solutions fit for purpose within each customers unique environment that include various voice including radio communications, data and video technologies with our clients predominantly in the public safety government sector and the energy & natural resources industry.
This role provides dedicated specialist support to the Tasmanian GRN project TasGRN project in Hobart, Tasmania. The Project is a partnership with Telstra and Tasmania Government agencies to deliver a highly advanced, mission critical communications network to meet the current and future needs of the state and community.
Job Description The primary role of the System Engineering Training Manager is the review of system detailed design documents, Undertake presentations of technical solutions and services to customers, delivery of training requirements for the TasGRN Upgrade project in accordance with the Upgrade schedule and the TasGRN
Program Management Plan. This includes production and maintenance of the training plan, training pack
content development and the conduct of training delivery sessions for the project team and customer. Depending on the project scope, a Systems Engineering Training manager might be the technical lead responsible for the entire solution, overseeing the design, deployment and test teams until the project is
completed. Responsibility
Understand the training scope contained in the TasGRN Upgrade Contract
Review detailed design to refine and develop communication system solutions and services which satisfy the requirements of the customer, end users and operator
Undertake the generation of system documentation and equipment lists using relevant tools and processes.
Undertake presentations of technical solutions and services to customers, project teams and management.
Liaise with customers and project team in particular project manager & project engineers to identify training requirements and inputs to training materials.
Develop andor maintain a training plan for the project team and customers of the TasGRN Upgrade for customer approval.
Develop and deliver training outcomes in accordance with the Training Plan.
Produce and deliver trainthetrainer training packages as required by the contract
Basic Requirements
Tertiary Qualifications in Communications Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Software
Engineering, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering or related discipline.
Demonstrated results typically associated with an individual who has an undergraduate degree in a technical field
Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or equivalent qualification
Drivers license.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
The following skills are considered essential
Experience of complex project integration including interface definition
IP & Transmission design implementation
Good communication skills and confidence to present solutions to customersusers
Demonstrable experience working with customer training requirements and development of training plans, technical training and WHS training.
Knowledge or workplace training and assessment principles with delivery experience
Good understanding of Astro P25 Communication systems and IP Networks.
Experience working with and in front of customers is very important.
