**The opportunity**

Our client is a community focused federal government agency. They have an exciting opportunity available for a Finance Business Partner, to join the Finance branch in overseeing the financial management of the Agency & scheme through insightful financial reporting.

12-month initial Labour Hire contract with the opportunity to extend. APS6 level role offering $58.50 hourly + Superannuation. To be based out of Geelong.

This is a hybrid position offering 2 days working from home, with the remaining 3 on site. 37.5-hour work weeks, with 8-hour days expected.

**About the role**:
The position is a team membership position that may be required to perform work that involves team leadership and management responsibilities requiring the setting of priorities and managing workflows of a team.

The APS6 Finance Business Partner will provide detailed technical, professional, policy, operational support and advice in relation to complex problems. It may be required to coordinate and assist in the strategic planning, program and project management and policy development that support the Agency's objectives.

**Your responsibilities will include**:

- Analysing and interpreting statistical reports to assist with the development of work plans and strategic planning
- Collaborating with stakeholders to resolve issues and ensure effective and timely implementation of projects
- Coordinating and providing cost estimates for all internal and external requests for changes to systems
- Developing correspondence for stakeholders, such as financial reports, corporate documentation and responses to ministerial submissions
- Exercising appropriate delegations in accordance with legislation and guidelines
- Managing quality assurance activities and outcomes including the use of integrity/error reporting and the coordination of quality audits
- Preparing a range of written material including business cases, reports and corporate documentation
- Undertaking quality assurance of feasibility and cost estimates, assumptions and justifications
- Undertaking detailed financial analysis of branch/division's variance to budget and forecast
- Undertaking financial administration and across the division's cost centres and projects, including budgets, monitoring, forecasting and accruals

**About you**
- ** Australian citizenship is a requirement to be eligible for this position**:

- Able to work independently or under limited guidance
- Intermediate Excel skills
- Ability to liaise with internal and external stakeholders on policy, project or operational issues
- Can support internal and external networks
- Strong written & verbal communication
- Previous background within Disability or Government highly advantageous
