Barwon Health is the major regional health provider for the Barwon South West Region. It is one of Victoria’s largest regional health service with one of the busiest hospitals in the state, University Hospital. We serve over 500,000 people through the efforts of over 9,000 staff and more than 1,200 volunteers. We provide care at all stages or life and circumstance through a wide range of services from emergency and acute to mental health, primary care, community services, aged care, and subacute/rehabilitation. Care is provided to the community through over 28 key locations throughout the region.

**About the Role**

As the Finance Business Partner you will provide financial leadership to the organisation through the understanding and interpretation of financial results and trends. You will be the interface between finance, operational managers and a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders to ensure sound financial management, accurate budgeting/planning, forecasting and the delivery of high quality reporting. This position is full time and on-going based at University Hospital Geelong.

**Your Responsibilities**:

- Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with the key stakeholders to deliver financial solutions through undertaking robust, deep dive financial analysis
- Support process improvements and cost efficiency initiatives to maximise value, reduce risk and optimise operations
- Understand the business strategy and act as a catalyst in driving forward initiatives critical to delivering the strategy.
- Preparation of monthly performance reports providing insightful analysis and commentary for key business stakeholders
- Assist in the preparation and monitoring of budgets, forecasts and financial KPI’s
- Liaise and support the Senior Finance Business Partner and broader Commercial Finance team with delivery of financial modelling, project costing and ad hoc analysis and reporting as required

**To Be Successful**:

- Bachelor Degree or Higher in Accounting or Commerce;
- Completed (or working towards) Membership of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Australia and New Zealand (CAANZ) or Certified Practising Accountants of Australia (CPA) or international equivalent;
- Demonstrated financial analysis, budgeting and management accounting experience;
- Ability to build rapport and strong, professional relationships with a range of stakeholders whilst managing competing priorities;
- High attention to detail and competent skills in Microsoft Excel
- Experience working within a public health service desirable, however not essential
