This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced
**Finance Advisor** based in
**Melbourne **to join our Finance team.

This role is one of four Finance roles that will support & steward the growth of the Shell Energy B2C retail business in Australia.

This is a commercially oriented finance in the business role where the incumbent will partner with various commercial and operational teams within the Powershop B2C business and provide finance support as required across the wider Shell Energy finance function. The scope comprises governance, support, and to help grow the business both organically and inorganically. A key part of this role will be to build ways or working and interfaces with the commercial and operational areas of the B2C business.

With honesty, integrity and respect, you will:
Acts as a finance advisor for the Shell Energy Australia B2C business;
- Provide Business Finance/decision support for the various commercial and operations aspects of this customer facing mass market retail business;
- Act as the key Finance business partner for Powershop’s Customer team;
- Provide appropriate input and support for other Shell Finance teams such as Group Accounting, Performance & Reporting and Networks;
- Be actively involved in the annual Shell Energy planning input and quarterly latest estimate reporting cycles for the Consumer business;
- Work with the Finance team and other key stakeholders, as required, to update the current internal control environment at Powershop to comply with the Shell Control Framework and SOX 404 requirements;
- Design business performance management reporting for senior management utilising relevant systems;
- Identify any potential financial accounting, income tax, indirect tax or regulatory compliance issues for referral to Subject Matter Experts within Shell;
- Support preparation and analysis of annual regulatory reporting requirements;
- Assist with development of internal controls as the business grows; and
- Provide finance input, support and work with other areas of finance as part of the integrated power performance unit.

**What you’ll bring**

Here’s what you’ll need to thrive in this role:

- Finance professional with a mix of both finance fundamental and commercial acumen and knowledge. Experience partnering with operation and commercial teams to provide direction and advice on finance matters, help understand performance and also bringing in other parts of finance where required. Business partnering experience and well-developed relationship building and influencing skills are critical;
- Australian Power markets experience either in Shell or externally is beneficial;
- Able to establish credibility with operational and commercial areas of the business;
- Establish working relationships with other Shell Energy finance teams;
- Ability to develop reporting and analysis that informs the business on performance matters;
- Demonstrated business partnering track record; well-developed relationship building & influencing skills with a practical mindset and a team player; and
- Accounting or Finance professional level qualification (CA/CPA/ACCA).
