Are you an experienced Senior Finance and Tax Advisor ready to make an impact in the Energy sector? This temporary opportunity in Melbourne will see you managing key tax compliance and advisory functions within a fast-paced accounting and finance environment. The role commences as a 6-month contract with potential for permanency.

This role is with a large organisation operating in the Energy & Natural Resources industry. The company is known for its strong presence in the sector and its commitment to maintaining high standards in financial management and reporting.

Description

The Senior Tax and Finance Advisor will be responsible for the following but not be limited to:

  • Preparation of the Consolidated income tax return
  • Manage transfer pricing compliance
  • Manage GST compliance
  • Manage the preparation and lodgement of the FBT return
  • Monitoring Australian tax instalments and other tax payment requirements
  • Manage the tax reporting requirements including preparation of periodic tax calculations
  • Preparation of on-going Shareholder reporting obligations
  • Liaise with the Australian Taxation Office, to manage tax related issues
  • Tax advisory: Advise on tax structures, tax implications for potential M&A etc.
  • Prepare tax technical papers as required
  • Ad hoc project work

Profile

The Individual should have:

  • A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Professional tax qualifications or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in a similar role
  • CPA, CA, CTA or relevant qualification
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong knowledge of Australian tax laws and regulations.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and tax preparation tools.
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Effective communication skills for liaising with internal and external stakeholders.
