The Role

As a Finance Manager, you will be play a key leadership role responsible for delivering high-quality, accurate, and timely statutory and management reporting for the Group. This role oversees accounting for share-based payments, remuneration, and other complex financial reporting areas, ensuring compliance with AASB/IFRS and ASX disclosure requirements. The Finance Manager will lead a small team, drive continuous improvement in financial processes and systems, and partner closely with internal and external stakeholders to support strong financial governance and insight across the business..  The duties of your role will include, but not be limited to the following.

  • Lead the preparation of monthly, half-year, and annual consolidated financial statements in compliance with AASB, IFRS, the Corporations Act, and ASX Listing Rules.
  • Oversee the preparation of financial statement notes and disclosures, including remuneration and share-based payment sections.
  • Manage the half-year and year-end external audit processes, ensuring efficient coordination between auditors and internal teams.
  • Monitor and assess new accounting standards and regulatory developments, advising management of potential impacts.
  • Review and approve complex journal entries, reconciliations, and adjustments at the Group level.
  • Oversee the accounting, valuation, and reporting of executive and employee share-based payment schemes (e.g. STI, LTI, ESPP).
  • Partner with HR, Payroll, and Reward teams to ensure accurate accounting and disclosure of remuneration-related expenses.
  • Manage the preparation of reporting and analysis for the Remuneration Committee and senior management.
  • Manage the Group month-end close and consolidation process, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of reported financial results.
  • Review intercompany eliminations, equity accounting, and consolidation journals.
  • Provide analysis and commentary on Group results and key financial statement movements.
  • Drive process improvements and automation within the financial reporting function, including enhancements to ERP and consolidation systems
  • Strengthen internal controls and documentation supporting statutory reporting and governance.
  • Partner with stakeholder across the business to ensure accurate and integrated financial reporting.
  • Support the preparation of reports and presentations for the Executive Leadership Team, Audit & Risk Committee, and Board.
  • Act as a key liaison for external auditors, advisors, and other stakeholders.

The Person

CA or CPA qualified, you will have commenced your career within a Big 4 or mid-tier environment (ideally from External Audit) and have excellent technical accounting knowledge and skills.  Either making your first move from Chartered or coming from a large and complex environment, you will need to utilize your savvy mindset and ability to think outside box to work through ambiguity to succeed, and your excellent interpersonal and communication skills to partner with a range of internal and external stakeholders, to support the growth agenda of the Group.

Exposure in ASX listed environments, SOX or USGAAP will be regarded highly but are not essential to be considered for this long-term contract role.
