**Position Purpose**
The Account Officer will be responsible for managing financial transactions, maintaining accurate financial records, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and company policies for a large commercial cleaning business. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively within a dynamic team.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Process accounts payable and receivable transactions, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Reconcile bank statements and other financial records to ensure consistency and accuracy.
- Maintain accurate and organized financial documentation and records.
- Prepare financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual summaries, for management review.
- Monitor and manage the company’s budgets and expenditures to ensure compliance with financial goals.
- Handle invoicing, payments, and follow-ups with clients and vendors.
- Assist with payroll processing and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
- Conduct periodic audits to ensure financial integrity and compliance.
- Support the preparation of tax filings and compliance with all regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with internal teams to address and resolve financial discrepancies or issues.
- Provide recommendations for process improvements to enhance financial operations.
- Stay updated on accounting best practices and relevant legal regulations.

**Qualifications**
- 2-4 years of experience in an accounting or finance role.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance.
- Proficiency in Xero, Lightyear and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
- Excellent organisational and multitasking abilities, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
- Ability to handle sensitive financial information with confidentiality and integrity.

Pay: $30.00 - $40.00 per hour

Expected hours: 38 per week
