About Us
At ANZ, we're shaping a world where people and communities thrive, driven by a common goal: to improve the financial wellbeing and sustainability of our customers. Our Institutional bank helps our largest customers move trade and capital around the region, providing our people with great opportunities to build their technical expertise and their careers.
About the Role
As an Associate Director, Research & Analysis (“R&A”) FIG Australia in our team, you will play a key role in helping to focus on the end-to-end customer management from origination through to portfolio management, primarily within the Funds segment. Your primary responsibilities include credit risk assessment (financial and industry analysis, legal documentation, product and policy requirements etc.) and maintaining a well-managed portfolio of customers.
You will be required to engage with the Global; FIG R&A, Relationship and Risk teams; Global Capital Markets; legal, operations and other product areas.
The role also requires strong customer focus with accountability to drive outcomes to meet customer requirements, while balancing non-financial risks evident across the segment, working in very close collaboration with the Relationship Managers.
FIG is a global, high returning growth sector, with a focus on continuous improvement and ongoing client acquisition in which the FIG R&A team are at the forefront, continually looking to make real change to improve our efficiency and effectiveness.
**Role location**: 242 Pitt Street, Sydney NSW 2000
**Role type**: Permanent, Full-time
Banking is changing and we’re changing with it, giving our people great opportunities to try new things, learn and grow. Whatever your role at ANZ, you’ll be building your future, while helping to build ours.
What will your day look like?
As an Associate Director R&A FIG Australia, your accountabilities include:
Through deep client/industry understanding and underpinned by high quality analysis, your role will help capture valuable business and cross-sell opportunities within acceptable risk appetite.
Application of advanced credit/risk assessment skills and strong deal structuring capabilities to execute complex transactions jointly with Relationship Managers, Product Partners and Institutional Risk.
Industry specific research and ongoing portfolio management functions are also core responsibilities.
What will you bring?
To grow and be successful in the role, you will ideally bring the following:
Excellent research and analytical skills - driving customer growth initiatives and leading customer due diligence alongside the Relationship Managers.
Extensive experience in a credit analytical role is required - deep knowledge of product and legal capabilities (particularly Markets and Funds Financing) will be highly regarded.
Strong communication skills - to manage internal stakeholder and client expectations.
A curious individual who is always willing to learn, challenge themselves and the status quo - active involvement in credit process transformation is desired.
Someone who is adaptive to change, ability to think strategically while bringing commercial acumen to decision making.
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a team environment and contribute positively to the team culture.
You’re not expected to have 100% of these skills. At ANZ a growth mindset is at the heart of our culture, so if you have most of these things in your toolbox, we’d love to hear from you.
So why join us?
From the moment you join ANZ, you'll be doing meaningful work that will shape a world where people and communities thrive.
But it's not just our customers who'll feel your impact. you'll feel it too. Because at ANZ, you'll have the resources, opportunities, and support you need to take the next big step in your career.
We're a diverse bunch at ANZ in different roles, different locations, doing different things. That's why we have a range of flexible working arrangements, so our people can 'make work, work for them'.
