**Summary**
The Business Consultant - Rail is responsible in process improvement to existing systems and procedures, by identifying opportunities, analysing risks, recommending solutions and evaluating practices within system integration roadmap rail tailored to the rail infrastructure sector in NSW, whilst still focusing on innovation, safety, and sustainability.
**Duties and Responsibilities**
- Assist and encourage the development of objectives, strategies, and plans aimed at achieving optimal customer experience and satisfaction within the rail infrastructure sector in NSW
- Ensure the effective use of organisational resources and capabilities in alignment with business strategic goals
- Analyse, evaluate and make recommendations to current systems, capabilities, and structures within rail infrastructure projects
- Project manage the implementation of approved recommendations, ensuring smooth transitions and mínimal disruption to ongoing operations
- Provide coaching and guidance to individuals and teams to build specific capabilities and support organisational development
- Directly manage and mentor a team of highly skilled engineers and consultants by providing guidance and support to foster professional growth
- Cultivate a collaborative and inclusive team culture that goes the extra mile, encourages accountability and excellence in execution
- Lead the design, development and implementation of complex system integration solutions, ensuring seamless interoperability across various systems and subsystems
- Oversee the integration of technologies such as signalling systems communication networks, and rolling stock
- Foster strong relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, regulatory bodies, industry partners and vendors
- Represent the organisation at industry conferences, seminars, and forums, showcasing thought leadership and advocating for best practices in systems integration and engineering management
**Qualifications and Experience**
- Tertiary degree (Master’s degree preferred) in business administration, project management, engineering, or other related field
- Relevant certifications in project management or change management
- 15+ years’ experience in management consulting within the rail infrastructure or a similar industry
- Proven track record in successfully leading large-scale, complex system improvement and implementation projects
- Experience in a consultancy environment would be advantageous
- Strong project management skills with a focus on continuous improvement, quality assurance, risk mitigation, and ensuring project timelines and deliverables are met
- Strong knowledge of industry standards and regulatory requirements in rail infrastructure
- Strong leadership skills, with experience in managing, leading, guiding and mentoring engineering teams
- Strong ability to cultivate a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performance team culture
- Strong ability to build and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, regulatory bodies, industry partners, and vendors
Pay: $300,000.00 - $350,000.00 per year
