Environment Health and Safety Manager
**Job Description Summary**
The role is responsible for leading EHS Management. The EHS Manager plays a vital role in ensuring that all environmental, health, and safety protocols, underpinned by quality management are implemented and upheld across the account portfolio. This role will work closely with the account leadership team to lead the development, execution, and continuous improvement of EHS programs on the account.
**Key Responsibilities**:
**Account EHS**
- Lead the delivery of a quality and consistent level of EHS service to the client.
- Manage and oversee EHS management for the account portfolio ensuring alignment with statutory, company and contractual requirements.
- Implement and maintain the EHS+Q management systems tailored to the needs for the account portfolio.
- Facilitate a program of risk assessments, inspections, and audits across the account portfolio to identify and mitigate critical risks, minimize incidents, and non-conformances.
- Advise on compliance with local state and commonwealth legislation, codes, and standards.
- Deliver training programs to educate account staff, suppliers, and stakeholders on safety protocols and environmental awareness initiatives.
- Investigate incidents, develop incident reports, and monitor the implementation of corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Monitor EHS performance through KPIs and prepare regular reports for the client, regulatory and company management.
- Liaise with regulatory authorities, maintain required certifications, licenses, and competencies across the account portfolio.
- Proactively identify continual improvement opportunities in EHS processes to simplify and ensure effective implementation.
- Promote, mentor and coach a strong EHS culture across the account portfolio.
**Relationship Management**
- Establish and maintain trusted relationships with client stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain sound working relationships with internal company stakeholders.
- Establish and maintain open and professional relationships with suppliers and industry partners.
**Deliverables**
- Proactively review workplace processes to innovate and continuously improve the company performance and workplace experience.
- Articulate and live the Cushman & Wakefield culture, model organisational values and required behaviour and hold others (employees and peers) accountable for their actions by identifying and acting on behaviour which is inconsistent with agreed standards.
- Comply with all Cushman & Wakefield systems that are in place to meet the health and safety obligations of the organisation.
- Understand the Cushman & Wakefield brand and expertise of services delivered to ensure all opportunities to provide a full-service offer to clients.
**Background and Experience**:
- A strong, motivated and passionate EHS leader.
- Proven 5 years+ experience, preferably in the property, construction, or facilities management sectors.
- Comprehensive knowledge of legislation, systems, and risk management frameworks.
- Proven ability to lead and mentor a large account team across diverse range of stakeholders.
- Strong communication, stakeholder, and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated experience leading audit, compliance, and continual improvement programs.
- Proven background in conducting incident investigations, including liaison with regulatory agencies.
**Qualifications & Technical Skills**
- Tertiary qualification in a related discipline.
- High proficiency with MS Office. Capability to learn and use new software programs
**Preferred Requirements**:
- Australian Citizenship Required
- Location: Canberra - based, must hold or be willing to obtain a security clearance
