**Summary of Role**

The Quality, Health, Safety and Environment (QHSE) Manager is responsible for the implementation, ongoing development and maintenance of the QHSE Management Systems. This role is to be fully responsible for implementing safe systems of work and safe behavioral practices at all levels of the organization for the whole of Australia. This position provides QHSE knowledge and guidance to the organization and supports all employees & contractors with training and awareness programs in order to ensure safety culture and performance is achieved to the highest standard.

The role will require frequent visits to site and support the field teams in the delivery and execution of the Integrated Management System processes.

A physical presence to schedule with management will be required at the Sydney Office.

**Duties & Responsibilities**:

- Assist in ensuring that all works carried out complies with the company Health, Safety & Environment requirements at all times, and in accordance with company policy.
- Develop, implement and improve QHSE management systems, processes and procedures to support business operations in accordance with ISO9001, ISO14001, ISO45001 and any other locally applicable OHS & Quality regulation and standards throughout Australia.
- Prepare QHSE documentation for clients/projects as per the requirements and in consultation with the Business Development & Operations team
- Undertake QHSE inspections internally and with third parties/contractors as per the approved inspection program of the company. Follow up on the preventive and / or corrective actions identified during the inspections and monitor the timely closing of the actions in coordination with other departments.
- Develop, facilitate and review QHSE risk assessments for routine and non-routine activities in consultation with the operations team.
- Record & Report on QHSE key performance indicators on a monthly basis and issue reports as necessary.
- Suggest and advise changes to ensure continuous improvement on any additional effective KPIs to be added in the system as part of continual improvement
- Develop, implement and encourage the behavioral based safety culture in the organization through safe job observations and top management inspections.
- Perform daily walk throughs in both Novasource facilities and / or in clients’ premises to monitor and promote a safe workplace.
- Support other QHSE staff and contract managers as and when required.
- Actively participate in the HSE incident investigations and prepare required reports in consultation with management.
- Act as the NSPS representative in all QHSE meetings, committees, Centre of Excellence (CoE) and seminars.
- Diligently perform any other reasonable work or related tasks at the request of his/her manager
- Understand, implement and follow the NSPS QHSE policies.
- Report any HSE incident immediately as per HSE procedures.
- Implement and coordinate QHSE procedures onsite.

**Required Skills**:

- Current Valid driving license (mandatory)
- White card for the Construction Industry (mandatory)
- Extensive & proven HSEQ/Systems Background.
- Good knowledge of waste management practices and hazards.
- General knowledge of Environmental hazards and HSE principles.
- Professional as an individual.
- Innovative and continual improvement mindset.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including written and oral communication.
- Audit experience in both indoor and outdoor environments.
- Effective problem identification and problem solving relationships with internal and external resources
- Ability to adapt to changes in the work environment.
- Ability to work effectively in a multicultural team environment.
- Excellent interpersonal and conflict handling skills.
- Being fluent in English is required

**Experience**:

- 5-7 years of experience in a similar role
- Experience working within a multi-national organization, including direct support of international emerging markets
- Robust experience, specifically experience with setting up new processes
- Completing projects independently with mínimal guidance
- Proven success working with cross-functional
