**About the Role**

We are seeking an expert to allocate, review and provide proficient, constructive feedback on the work of the statutory planning team thus ensuring the team prepare timely, well-researched and accurate Council and delegate reports including the provision of sound recommendations.
To this end, the role requires someone who can remain abreast of legislative and policy change and industry developments relevant to the decision-making functions of the team and impacts on the internal operations of Council.
There will be opportunities to represent and coach others to advocate for Council’s interests at the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal, councillor briefings, community forums and associated settings.
A core part of the role is to establish and develop strong stakeholder relationships both internally and externally built on pragmatism, trust and respect for diverse opinions.
From a leadership perspective, the role will be attractive to someone who thrives on role-modelling positive attitudes and behaviours across the team to drive a deliberate culture of customer service, importance of internal and external working relationships and continuous business improvement which improves the reputation of the Council.
