Your Opportunity

The IHR service applies early intervention approaches where possible to transition singles and couples from homelessness to housing and supports people to develop the skills needed to sustain at-risk tenancies and avoid tenancy stress in the long term.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

- Support clients to facilitate a transition to long term secure housing from these immediate response options
- Work with clients to create individualized support plans including referral to supplementary services
- Assist clients in the process of transition out of the service into independence or other services
- Conduct group case management sessions or group work programs for clients where necessary
- Develop strong relationships with key external stakeholders including other service providers
- Complete a range of other administrative duties for the efficient running of the service

Requirements for Success
- Relevant tertiary qualifications with at least 1 years’ experience
- Demonstrated crisis, case management, referral, and advocacy skills.
- Demonstrated professional approach to the role including maintaining professional boundaries.
- Strong listening and engagement skills with clients and other internal and external stakeholders
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage time effectively.
- The ability to maintain resilience and manage personal development, self-awareness, and own wellness.

Before starting work with us, you will need to undertake a national police history check, qualifications, and referee checks, and have a clearance to work with children/vulnerable people.
