We're looking to hire a full time Data Governance Tool Administrator who is responsible for managing and maintaining the suite of data governance tools and platforms, ensuring their efficient operation, and supporting data governance processes across AGL. This role requires strong technical expertise in data governance and data management tools, as well as excellent communication skills to collaborate with data stewards, data owners, and other stakeholders.

Key accountabilities of this role- Administer data governance tools (e.g., data catalog, data quality tools, metadata management platforms) to support data governance activities.- Configure and manage user roles, permissions, and access controls within the data governance tools to ensure data security and compliance.- Customize the tool's configurations (e.g., workflows, metadata schema, notifications) to align with the organization’s data governance framework.- Provide ongoing support to data users, troubleshoot issues, and work with vendors as needed to resolve technical problems.- Collaborate with data stewards and data owners to ensure accurate metadata, data lineage, and data quality metrics are captured within the tools.- Develop and deliver training sessions and create documentation to help users effectively use the data governance tools.- Assist in the implementation of data governance processes, such as data lineage tracking, data quality monitoring, and data stewardship workflows.- Regularly monitor tool performance, conduct health checks, and perform maintenance activities to ensure optimal tool performance.- Manage tool upgrades and work with vendors or IT to implement new features and enhancements to meet evolving data governance needs.- Generate reports on tool usage, data quality metrics, metadata completeness, and other key performance indicators for data governance efforts.

Qualifications, key skills and experience required- Experience in similar 3+ years of experience working with data governance, data catalog, or data quality tools (e.g., Informatica, Collibra, Alation).- Proven experience in data governance, data management, or administration of data governance tools.- Knowledge of SQL, data integration tools, and data modeling concepts.- Experience with scripting or automation for tool configurations (e.g., Python, JavaScript) is a plus.- Exposure to cloud environments i.e. MS Azure and APIs (desirable).- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or collaboratively.- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.- Detail-oriented, with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
